What is Continuous Strip®?
Each piece of finger-jointed Continuous Strip Monogram XL flooring averages 6 1/2 feet in length. This means that the typical floor will have 70% fewer end joints than random length flooring, resulting in a floor system that is up to 180% stronger, straighter, with a more visually appealing linear look.
What is True Squar-Edge®?
Monogram XL is available in both True Squar-Edge® and with an eased (microbeveled) edge on two sides. True Squar-Edge provides the look of a custom sanded floor without all the mess. Stoehr Flooring’s unique production process produces a true square edge on all four sides for a beautiful monolithic look and can be ordered pre-finished or pre-sanded unfinished. Please refer to specific product pages to determine availability as not all specie and width combinations come in both edge options.
What is the Lay Flat, Stay Straight™ Process?
Monogram XL is made using a more expensive manufacturing process to minimize bowed boards and subsequent induced stresses. Taking care during the manufacturing process makes it easier for you to install and minimizes uneven tongue & groove movement between boards. This makes the floor more stable vertically and horizontally, helping make for a quieter floor.
What are the benefits of solid hardwood flooring?
Besides being naturally beautiful, hardwood floors are easy to maintain and last for many years. Hardwood floors also minimize the risk of dust allergies thus helping create a healthy environment for your home.
Where can I install Stoehr Flooring Hardwood?
Since Stoehr Flooring is a solid hardwood product, it can be installed on or above grade. It is not recommended in a below grade application.
What is the difference between the Monogram XL grades Premium, Classic and Character?
These are face grades that are used to grade like variations of the natural wood grouped together so you get a consistent looking floor. Premium grade has the most uniform color with the least amount of natural variation from character marks like knots, etc. Character grade has the most pronounced color and natural variation. These face grades have nothing to do with the quality of the wood, just the look.
Can I expect my Stoehr Flooring hardwood to have color variations?
As a product of nature, each tree will have different colors and your hardwood floor will have some color variation no matter what grade of wood you choose. Because of the natural color and grain variation in hardwood flooring from piece to piece, it is important to work out of three or four cartons at a time to assure uniform blending between boxes. The installer is the final inspector and any materials considered inconsistent with the majority of the flooring should not be installed.
Where can I get molding and trim to match my Stoehr Flooring hardwood products?
